Clinic Director-Contact Lens Specialist

Dan Acosta, L.D.O. B.C. Opt. is Florida Board of Opticianry Certified to fit and adapt contact lenses. He specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses and Low Vision aids. He fits all types of contact lenses, including Keratoconus lenses, scleral lenses for dry eyes, and irregular corneas. Additional expertise in multifocal toric and high refractive errors. He is credentialed to perform Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) for the correction of Myopia.


Daniel Acosta did academic and clinical training abroad, at the University of Houston and the Baylor College of Medicine. He has been credentialed by the ABO, NCLE, and JCAHPO.  His working experience has been at large Ophthalmology clinics in Texas, Kansas, Virginia, and Florida.  Dan completed the Low Vision Dispensing course of the OAA and has helped hundreds of low vision patients (partially sighted) gain independence with the use of low vision aids. Daniel Acosta, L.D.O., BC Opt.  was an adjunct Professor of Opticianry at Hillborough teaching the clinical lab portion at their Fort Myers Location.  For the last 10 years, he has been the clinical director of his practice specializing in Contact Lenses and Low Vision Care. Robert Mandelkorm, M.D.  participates in the care of our patients who require medical eye care.  


Education & Work

Robert Mandelkorn completed his Medical training at the University of Louisville and later did his Ophthalmology fellowship at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans and his Ophthalmology Residency at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. He retired from the Veterans Administration and entered private practice in 2000. Robert Mandelkorn, M.D. has a practice in Punta Gorda in addition to the Fort Myers location.



John Swift,  O.D., M.D.


John E. Swift, O.D., M.D.  decided to take a sabbatical after more than 40 years of academic work at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. Professor Swift trained many area ophthalmologists and optometrists. We wish John a well and relaxing time off!
