Contact Lens/Low Vision Certified
Dan Acosta, L.D.O. B.C. Opt. is Florida Board of Opticianry Certified for the fitting and adaptation of contact lenses. He specializes in hard to fit contact lenses and Low Vision aids. He fits all types of contact lenses including keratoconus lenses, scleral lenses for dry eyes and irregular corneas. Additional expertise in multifocal toric and spherical refractive errors. He is credentialed to perform Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) for the correction of Myopia with ortho-keratology lenses.
Education & Work
Dan Acosta received academic and clinical training in ophthalmic optics abroad and at the University of Houston. He did contact lens training at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He has been a Contact Lens/Low Vision Specialist for more than 25 years, practicing in large ophthalmology practices in Texas, Virginia, Kansas and Florida. Additionally, he was an Adjunct Professor at Hillsborough College-Opticianry Program assisting with their Clinical Ophthalmic Lab.
Robert Mandelkorn, M.D.

Robert Mandelkorm, M.D. has been taking care of our patients since 2018 after Professor John Swift, M.D. retired from our practice.
Education & Work
Robert Mandelkorn completed his Medical training at the University of Louisville and later did his Ophthalmology fellowship at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans and his Ophthalmology Residency at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. He retired from the Veterans Administration and entered private practice in 2000. Robert Mandelkorn, M.D. has a practice in Punta Gorda in addition to the Fort Myers location.
