Clinic Director & Contact Lens Specialist

Dan Acosta, L.D.O., B.C. OPT., has been in practice for over 25 years. He is licensed and Florida Board of Opticianry Certified for contact lens practice. Dan received his academic and clinical training abroad and later on at the University of Houston. Additionally, he did contact lens training at the Baylor College of Medicine. Before the opening of Florida Optical Services, Dan worked for several large Ophthalmology Clinics in Texas, Kansas and Florida. He was also an Adjunct Professor at Hillsborough College in Tampa, Florida; teaching the Ophthalmic Lab portion at the Florida Southwestern State College Site in Fort Myers.

Dan received credentials from the American Board of Opticianry, The National Contact Lens Examiners, The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) and The Low Vision Dispensing Certificate Program from the O.A.A. His practice specializes mainly in Hard to Fit contact lenses and Low Vision. Robert Mandelkorn, M.D.


Robert Mandelkorm, M.D. has been taking care of our patients since 2018 after Professor John Swift, M.D. retired from practice. Robert Mandelkorn M.D. completed his Medical training at the University of Louisville and later did his Ophthalmology fellowship at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans and his Ophthalmology Residency at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. He retired from the Veterans Administration and entered private practice in 2000. Robert Mandelkorn, M.D. has a practice in Punta Gorda in addition to the Fort Myers location.
